Tangled Under the Stars: August 20

Fairy tales are a child’s first glimpse into the magical world of glass slippers, castles and prince charming. They are the stories that define our childhood and builds a nostalgic sense of warmth everytime these tales are revisited. On Saturday, August 20th, 2011, the Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association’s Movies Under the Stars event presented by Prospera Credit Union will open up an enchanting world to a whole new generation of kids with Disney’s Tangled.

Come out to the beautiful Holland Park for a movie experience like no other. Snuggle up on the grass with friends and loved ones underneath the glow of the starry night sky, enjoy buttery popcorn, and of course, a free movie.

Tangled, based on the classic fairy tale Rapunzel, is an animated musical comedy centered around the lovable protagonist known for her magical mane. Locked away in a tower by Mother Gothel, Rapunzel desperately yearns journety out into the world. Her wish becomes reality when bandit Flynn Ryder discovers Rapunzel and they embark on a new and exciting adventure.

Movie starts at dusk, but come early for our pre-show festivities beginning at 4:30pm. Get your face painted and try your hand at various crafts. The North Surrey Lions Club will be running a BBQ, so be sure to drop by and grab a sizzling burger hot off the grill..

And for your listening pleasure, Derrick Fedele will be playing smooth tunes live on his acoustic guitar. A litter of rare and exotic animals will also be making a cameo courtesy of Cinemazoo between 6-6:45pm.

Bring a blanket, and make it an evening with the community.
