Nominate A Winner

Do you know someone who is making Surrey a great place to live?

The City of Surrey is calling for submissions for the 2014 City Awards Program – a family of awards introduced in 2011 to celebrate excellence in urban design and sustainable community development, beautification and heritage. Submissions for 2014 will be accepted beginning April 22nd through to June 23, 2014.

The City Awards recognize citizens, community groups, businesses and developers who are making outstanding contributions. The awards are part of the City’s ongoing commitment to programs and initiatives that support the City’s vibrant communities, promote modern urban development, protect and enhance the environment, and celebrate our heritage.

“There are so many remarkable individuals and exceptional projects within Surrey that deserve special recognition,” said City of Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts. “The City Awards help celebrate and showcase important accomplishments in areas such as: sustainable living, community spirit, civic beautification and excellence in building and urban design.”

This year’s six award categories include:
 NewCity Design Award: Excellence in Urban Design & City Building
 Clean Energy City Award: Innovation in Energy Conservation & Efficiency
 Heart in the City Award: Selfless Acts of Community Spirit
 Beautiful City Award: Outstanding Contributions in Civic Beautification
 Green City Award: Environmental Leaders who Take Action & Inspire
 Heritage Award: Excellence in heritage preservation, interpretation and promotion

Candidates may be nominated or submitted from April 22 to June 23, 2014. Award recipients will be recognized by Mayor and Council during the City Awards reception on October 22, 2014.
