Ten Years of Movies Under the Stars – Despicable Me 2

The only thing harder than being the world’s top supervillain, is being a single dad to three little girls as ex-villain Gru discovers in Despicable Me 2. In this humorous sequel, Gru is struggling to adapt to an honest living when a top secret Arctic lab is stolen. He is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to track down the villain responsible for stealing the lab with his quirky AVL partner, Lucy. And all the adventure happens at Holland Park in Surrey.

That’s right. Everyone’s favourite summer event, Movies Under the Stars, is back for the tenth year.  Presented by Prospera Credit Union, and hosted by the Downtown Surrey BIA, Movies Under the Stars transforms Holland Park into a free outdoor movie theatre every year.  This year Movie’s Under the Stars will be kicking off with Despicable Me 2 on August 2nd. Movies begin at dusk but there will be a variety of activities and entertainment starting at 5pm.

On August 2nd guests will be treated to a variety of pre-show musical performances by Derrick Fedele, the 2014 Jr. Talent Winners and the Children’s performer, Zox of the Forest. Also, movie goers can look forward to a BBQ provided by the North Surrey Lions Club as well as a 50/50 draw, trivia contest with prizes, and more!

Calling all minions! Saturday August 2nd be sure to grab a yellow shirt and some jean shorts and dress up like a minion as we try to break the world record for most minions in one place. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for a real life minion roaming around…

Help us kick our 10th Anniversary off right. Grab a blanket or bring a chair and some fellow minions and come out for a despicably good time.
