Surrey Fire Fighters Bike for Mental Health

Keeping things hot this summer is the Surrey Fire Fighter’s 100k in a Day Bike Ride.

The Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society will host a 100-kilometre bike ride around the City of Surrey to support physical and mental health in the community. The 100K in a Day Ride for Community Health will start and end at Central City Shopping Centre on Friday, August 12th from 9AM to 3PM.

Cyclists of all fitness level can ride in one of three levels: Recreation, Intermediate and Challenge. The bike route will include pit stops at Semiahmoo Shopping Centre, Morgan Crossing, as well as Guildford Town Centre. Cyclists and supporters can meet at the finish line for a barbeque and refreshments. Not only that, but an antique fire truck will also be waiting there for fun pictures! All proceeds from the BBQ and wind-up event will go towards the Surrey Fire Fighter’s Charitable Society.

The Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society started in 1994 to help support and give back to the city of Surrey. For the past 15 years, the Surrey Fire Fighters have been funding programs such as the Nutritional Snack Program to provide healthy food for Surrey students.

Join us at Central City Plaza cheer on the cycling heroes, and enjoy the charity barbeque, fundraising activities and live entertainment. For more information on how to get involved, check out www.surreyfirefighters.com.
