CSOs Get Badges

Josh

Tuesday, July 12 our CSOs (Community Safety Officers) for District One, Josh Waltman and Simon Wong, were presented with their official badges by Assistant Commissioner, Fraser MacRae.

The CSO program in Surrey started three years ago and it didn’t take long for Josh and Simon to became important links in our community. Their duties include visiting local businesses to educate owners and employees about various crime reduction initiatives. And if there is a community event, you’ll find them there, day off or not.

Good work and congratulations, Josh and Simon.

Great initiative, Mayor Watts. As part of the Crime Reduction Strategy, the CSO program is a big credit to the City of Surrey.

City of Surrey Has BIG Plans For The Future

For the City of Surrey, this has been a long time coming:  a spankin’ new City Hall building is set to change the way City officials interact and engage with their citizens.  Plans for City Hall were unveiled June 29, 2010 at a press conference held in SFU Surrey.

Designed by Kasian, the new City Hall will incorporate the new Surrey Public Library building and a potential building for mixed use purposes.  A public plaza with a large outdoor screen complete the finishing touches to the new Civic Centre design.  And with SFU Surrey within mere walking distance, the new City Centre will be lively, thriving and communal.
