The Long Long Table

In 2014, the Downtown Surrey BIA cooked up a new event – The Long, Long Table: A Community Affair and it was an immediate hit. What exactly is The Long, Long Table?

The Long, Long Table is unique event that invites people of all ages who live, work, volunteer and learn in Surrey to sit at the same dinner table and share a five-course meal together. Here citizens who would not normally interact with one another find themselves sharing experiences and getting to know one another, making it a “friendraiser” rather than a fundraiser.

The Long, Long Table 2023 was held on Tuesday, June 27 at Civic Plaza behind City Hall. From 4:30-6pm there was networking, appies and a silent auction with the proceeds going to the Surrey Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. At 6pm, we sat down for a scrumptious five-course meal.
